Collabify is a collaborative playlist service that lets people create playlists, share links, preview tracks, and add songs together for parties and events.

Information We Collect

When you use Collabify, we may collect the following information:

• Account details such as your name, username, email address, and encrypted password.
• Playlist information such as playlist names, themes, child-safe settings, cover images, share codes, and tracks added to playlists.
• Music search and playlist activity, including tracks you add, preview, import, or export.
• Support messages you send through the support form, including your name, email address, message, and related playlist reference if provided.
• Basic technical information such as device type, app or browser user agent, IP-derived security/rate-limit data, login activity, and error information.

How We Use Information

We use information to:

• Create and manage your Collabify account.
• Show your playlists, shared playlists, and playlist tracks.
• Allow playlist owners and collaborators to add, preview, import, export, and manage music.
• Apply child-safe playlist rules where enabled.
• Provide support and respond to messages.
• Protect the service from misuse, spam, unauthorised access, and abuse.
• Improve reliability, performance, and user experience.

Apple Music and Music Search

Collabify uses Apple/iTunes search data to help you find tracks and play 30-second previews. If you use Apple Music import or export in the iOS app, Apple may ask you to grant MusicKit access. Collabify uses that permission only to load your Apple Music playlists, match tracks, import tracks into Collabify, or export a Collabify playlist to your Apple Music library when you request it.

Apple Music access is handled through Apple services and your Apple account. Collabify does not receive your Apple ID password or payment details.

Payments and Subscriptions

If paid plans are enabled, payment processing may be handled by Apple for iOS subscriptions or by a third-party payment provider on the website. Collabify does not store full card details. We may store basic subscription information such as your plan, payment status, start date, renewal or expiry date, and transaction references needed to manage your account.

Sharing Playlists

When you share a playlist link, people with that link may be able to view the playlist and add music depending on the playlist settings. Playlist owners may be able to see who added tracks when users are signed in.

Children and Child-Safe Playlists

Collabify can be used by families to collect song suggestions. Child-safe mode blocks tracks marked explicit by Apple/iTunes from being added to that playlist. Child-safe mode is a music-filtering feature and does not replace parental supervision.

Cookies and Local Storage

The website may use cookies or session storage to keep you signed in, protect forms, remember preferences, and maintain secure sessions. The iOS app stores your login token securely using Apple Keychain.

Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We may share limited information only where needed to operate Collabify, such as hosting, database, security, payment, Apple Music/MusicKit, and support services, or where required by law.

Data Retention

We keep account, playlist, support, and technical records for as long as needed to provide the service, resolve support issues, comply with legal obligations, prevent misuse, and maintain backups. You can request deletion of your account or specific support information by contacting support.

Your Choices

You can choose what playlists to create, what links to share, and whether to enable child-safe mode. You can also sign out of the app or website. On iPhone, you can manage Apple Music permissions in iOS Settings.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect Collabify accounts and data, including encrypted passwords, secure tokens, access controls, and server-side validation. No online service can guarantee complete security.
